Occident Lodge No. 48 F & A.M.
of the
Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington

More than 35 Masons, spouses, family members and guests enjoyed a barbecue picnic at Occident Lodge No. 48 in Ilwaco Saturday July 29. The group was welcomed on a lovely sunny afternoon by the master, Ron Robbins. Guests included the district deputy for District 18, Doug Puckett, and his wife, Dee, plus many members of Pacific Chapter 129 Order of Eastern Star. Robbins asked Norm Austen to take a break from his kitchen and grilling duties to receive the Hiram Award for his ongoing services to the lodge. Austen and Mike Carmel always feature as key leaders in the culinary arts, both for the picnic and for the weekly lunches at the lodge. The picnic featured grilled hamburgers and sausages, various tasty salads and a selection of crisps (a.k.a. potato chips), plus cookies kindly brought by Rhonda Kotek-Lopez.
